Job Description
Mercer County State Bank seeks a Controller with a clear path to CFO succession to lead accounting operations onsite in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure GAAP compliance, regulatory requirements, and robust internal controls.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights for decision making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Serve as the primary liaison for financial statement audits and tax return preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, within a banking or financial services environment.
- Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and communication skills.
