Credit Risk - Commercial & Specialized Industries, Senior Associate

Responsibilities

• Use strong credit analysis to structure new transactions and manage the assigned credit portfolio independently.
• Assess risks and mitigants, balance risk and reward, diligently handle renewals, amendments, and new transactions, and maintain solid credit reporting metrics.
• Form independent, well-supported views and present them clearly to partners and senior leadership to defend your position.
• Operate proactively and diplomatically with internal and external contacts to keep transactions moving, maintaining urgency to meet internal and client deadlines.
• Partner effectively to develop comprehensive and durable client relationships.
• Provide leadership in the market by contributing positively to the team and participating in projects or improvement initiatives for the organization.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, using them to solve problems with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• BA/BS/BBA degree is required with some accounting and finance coursework.
• Completion of a major corporate or commercial bank credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience) and a thorough understanding of bank credit policies and procedures.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial banking or lending with extensive credit analysis.
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities; able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships.
• Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to learn quickly.
• High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure.
