Job Description
Charles Schwab is hiring a Trust Officer for a hybrid remote role in Wilmington, DE, offering a salary range of USD 105,500 to 140,400 per year and a focus on managing an assigned book of business while ensuring compliance with Bank policies and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for the assigned book of trust accounts.
- Administer each trust in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of its governing instrument.
- Maintain high client service levels by promptly researching and responding to registered investment advisors, trust beneficiaries, internal financial consultants, and other centers of influence in the account relationship.
- Present discretionary memorandums for review and approval by the Discretionary Distributions Committee.
- Document directed distributions for the administrative file and for the Personal Trust Fiduciary Committee.
- Manage the volume of new accounts through the post acceptance administrative review process.
- Ensure proper receipt of and accounting for miscellaneous assets in established trust accounts.
- Respond to initial inquiries from Schwab advisors, third party contacts, and private individuals regarding current and future trust prospects.
- Perform Post Acceptance and Annual administrative account reviews for assigned accounts.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Provide support to the Senior Trust Officer and Director.
- Provide training and support to junior staff.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in personal trust administration as the primary trust professional with an assigned book of business.
- Experience with directed trusts preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher; CTFA preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of trust administration principles with practical experience in trusts governed by Delaware and Nevada law is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
