Financial Analyst

Hybrid Financial Analyst role in Waltham, MA supporting financial planning, reporting and analysis for the Commercial team of a global pharmaceutical company; 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for ongoing financial planning and consolidated reporting of the Commercial product portfolio, emphasizing systems and processes that enable consistent reporting across brands.
• Collaborate with Accounting on month-end and quarter-end close processes, including expense accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package by Product P&L, with detailed variance analysis and implications for the latest forecast.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and deliver decision support for the Commercial organization as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics preferred); 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; MBA or CPA/equivalent is a plus.
• Biotech or pharmaceutical experience with prior P&L support is preferred.
• Strong planning and analytical abilities, advanced financial modeling, Excel and financial database skills (Hyperion Planning or similar); Anaplan experience is a plus.
• Advanced ability to manipulate large data sets, automate repetitive tasks, and present data clearly and concisely.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and impactful PowerPoint presentations.
• Solid knowledge of relevant accounting practices.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence across functional areas.
