Job Description
Join JPMorganChase's Commercial and Investment Bank Real Estate Credit Risk team in Chicago, where independent risk assessment and credit approvals drive lending decisions across real estate clients. As a Risk Management - Real Estate Credit Risk Associate, you'll evaluate risk and support approvals for loans and lending-related transactions spanning real estate, lodging, gaming, homebuilding, and real estate services. The role is onsite in Chicago with a compensation range of USD 125,000 to 140,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Perform credit analyses and support senior credit officers in approving lending and trading transactions, including operating exposure considerations, either individually or as part of a deal team
- Prepare credit approval memos that present historical financial statements, related financial analysis, and forecasts of cash flows for large corporate borrowers
- Develop a forward-looking view of a company’s business, finances, and sector risks
- Oversee and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures across industries on an ongoing basis
- Contribute to negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives
- Assess risk ratings and maintain updated credit research on the client portfolio
- Oversee the CRE portfolio and participate in portfolio management and surveillance initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in corporate/commercial credit, investment banking, or relevant roles within financial services or risk agencies
- Solid academic grounding in accounting principles, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macroeconomics
- Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
