Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant position based onsite in Fitchburg, WI with CENTURY 21 Affiliated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely issuance.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries and general ledger adjustments to maintain accurate ledgers.
• Perform and review complex reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Support month end, quarter end, and year end close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal and external audit requests.
• Support tax reporting and compliance by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Contribute to budgeting and reporting processes, including variance analysis and historical data support.
• Serve as a resource to team members by providing guidance, reviewing work, and supporting training efforts.
• Identify and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
• 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience in public or private environments
