Job Description
This on-site Atlanta role centers on credit and operational accounting leadership within RaceTrac. It offers the opportunity to oversee underwriting and monitoring of credit lines for fuel trading counterparties, guide credit analysis and approval processes for Gulf Inc. and RaceTrac’s wholesale fuel subsidiary, and lead daily reporting and forecasting of credit line utilization. You will collaborate with front office, tax, and RPI accounting teams to ensure GAAP-compliant financial processing and accurate inventory outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the credit analysis and credit approval process for Metroplex counterparties
- Provide and develop meaningful reporting and analysis related to settlements and credit
- Manage the Metroplex Settlement teams, ensuring inventory is reconciled and AR and AP transactions are settled accurately for both bulk and rack transactions
- Ensure month-end inventory reconciliation and close are timely and accurate
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records; provide guidance for new or non-routine inventory transactions to ensure GAAP compliance
- Review and approve all payments for wholesale purchases
- Support the professional development of Metroplex team members
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, including front office, tax, and RPI accounting
- Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed
- Assist in developing solutions to financial and operational processes for inventory functions, policies, and procedures
- Actively participate in and communicate the Metroplex accounting department's strategic vision and company-wide initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in wholesale fuel credit functions
- Banking, underwriting, or commercial trade credit background preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with Excel as a required skill
- Commercial bulk commodities experience preferred
- Moody’s or other S&P credit software experience a plus
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
