Position Overview
The Finance academic area at the KU School of Business invites student applicants for consideration for student hourly roles. These positions may involve teaching, grading, and/or assisting with research for School of Business courses. Throughout employment, student workers are expected to act in alignment with and support the School of Business Code of Conduct.
Job Description
Possible duties include, but are not limited to:
- Holding office hours (approximately 30%)
- Preparing class materials (approximately 30%)
- Grading (approximately 10%)
- Special projects (approximately 10%)
- Gathering data and conducting research (approximately 10%)
- Other duties as assigned (approximately 10%)
Required Qualifications
GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current KU Business student
- Current finance student
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
Position Requirements
During the semester term, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods, the student hourly must meet at least one of these conditions:
- Have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester
- Be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours
- Be enrolled in the summer session
- Be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester
Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments do not apply to Student Hourly appointments.
Employment Conditions
Remote work arrangements are not available to student employees unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
This is an hourly non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
