Woods & Co Recruitment has partnered with a high-growth, late-stage B2B Payments & Rewards fintech that is expanding its U.S. operations after significant international success. Backed by $40M USD in funding at a $450M USD valuation and processing over $10.5B USD in transactions last year, the company is building its North American presence from the ground up. They are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Lead to help establish a rock-solid accounting foundation during this critical growth phase. This is a high-ownership, build-from-scratch opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and being deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of a fast-scaling business. Your responsibilities

Own end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping for the U.S. entity
Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
Lead monthly and quarterly close processes and prepare accurate financial statements
Administer payroll and benefits, including onboarding/offboarding employees
Oversee accounts payable workflows, vendor setup, and invoice approvals
Track expenses and provide clear budget-to-actual reporting
Partner with the international finance team to align reporting, policies, and controls
Coordinate with external advisors on compliance, tax, and payroll matters
Support operational teams by ensuring payments and financial flows are accurately captured
Document processes and implement scalable, audit-ready financial controls

What you need

5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience
Hands-on ownership of month-end close and financial statement preparation
Payroll and benefits administration experience (Rippling or similar)
Experience with Xero, NetSuite, or similar accounting platforms
Strong Excel skills and comfort building reliable financial reporting
High ownership mindset with ability to operate in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
Based in Dallas with ability to work in-office

Nice-to-haves

CPA or CPA-track
Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services
Comfort presenting financial results to senior stakeholders
Interest in growing into a more strategic finance role over time

Overview

We are assisting a stable private company located near Farmville, VA 23901 with its search for a Corporate Accountant. This newly created role reports to the Controller and works closely with a small accounting team. The position operates on a hybrid schedule with three on-site days each week.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and reconciliation.
Evaluate and strengthen internal accounting controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in preparing budgets and conducting variance analysis as needed.

Qualifications

BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Ability and desire to grow within the organization

Location and Role Context

Hybrid remote opportunity based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado 80487. The Finance & HR Manager oversees all financial operations for the Steamboat Springs Chamber and provides human resources oversight. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Responsibilities

Partner with the CEO to develop, monitor, and manage all chamber budgets.
Establish robust accounting controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Utilize QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise for accounting tasks and financial reporting.
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Maintain bank accounts, perform reconciliations, manage authorized signers, set up or close accounts as needed, and oversee investments.
Prepare monthly financial statements and coordinate review meetings with each department.
Generate monthly financial reports for Board of Directors meetings.
Lead the preparation and oversight of the annual audit and tax return.
Administer payroll, including biweekly pay cycles and direct deposits.
Handle payroll taxes, including annual W-2s and 1099s, and quarterly 941, 940, unemployment, and withholding filings and payments as required.
Maintain accurate personnel records, including salary and benefits information.
Administer insurance programs covering health, dental, property, workers' compensation, and liability.
Manage the 401(k) plan, including semi-monthly deposits and online contribution reports.
Collaborate with the CEO to create, update, and monitor Chamber HR policies and procedures.
