Job Description
The Controller will oversee financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and construction accounting across multiple entities for a Central Texas builder with four subcontracting companies and one General Contractor, while managing accounting operations and serving as the primary liaison with banks, insurers, and sureties.
Responsibilities
- Direct financial reporting and lead Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions
- Manage all lines of credit, bank loans, and other financing instruments
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
- Lead the monthly close process
- Lead the quarterly close process
- Lead the yearly close process
- Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities
- Maintain compliance with IRS requirements
- Ensure adherence to construction accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Understand and apply construction accounting principles, including over/under billings, WIP schedules, and related reporting
- Utilize and manage construction accounting software, Foundation experience preferred
- Perform financial analysis and support strategic decision-making
- Serve as the primary financial liaison with banks, insurance providers, and sureties
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections
- Coordinate and prepare required tax filings and statements
Requirements
- Accounting degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management; Controller experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Construction industry experience highly desirable
