Job Description

This onsite Financial Analyst role is based in Tucson, AZ or Northridge, CA and carries a salary range of USD 90,000 – 135,000 per year. You will contribute to financial planning, program analysis, and FP&A across the Space Systems sector and corporate functions within a government contracting environment.

Experiences and background we look for (Required Skills)

  • BA/BS degree and 4+ years' experience or MA/MBA and 2+ years' experience
  • Experience supporting government contracts or defense programs
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with indirect cost structures and cost pools within a government contracting organization
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions

Nice to have (Preferred Skills)

  • Prior experience in a Defense contracting organization with TM1, DELTEK CostPoint software knowledge
  • Familiarity with SBIR/STTR contracts
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau
  • MBA, CMA

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary financial analyst supporting the Space Systems sector, partnering with Program Managers to monitor financial performance, funding, and contract expenditures
  • Track program budgets and perform variance analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for government contracts
  • Analyze customer contracts to determine cost, funding, and profit data
  • Support the semi-annual budgeting and EAC process
  • Support financial planning and analysis activities across corporate and functional departments
  • Assist with financial evaluation of operational initiatives and organizational spending plans
  • Prepare financial plans, generate regular and special-purpose reports, and maintain historical financial records
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility into program and operational performance
  • Establish cost projections, personnel-specific labor forecasts, and analyze financial trends
  • Review weekly timesheet charges to ensure timely and accurate completion and proper charging practices
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and decision-support to Sector, Finance, and functional department leadership as needed
