Experiences and background we look for (Required Skills)
- BA/BS degree and 4+ years' experience or MA/MBA and 2+ years' experience
- Experience supporting government contracts or defense programs
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with indirect cost structures and cost pools within a government contracting organization
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
Nice to have (Preferred Skills)
- Prior experience in a Defense contracting organization with TM1, DELTEK CostPoint software knowledge
- Familiarity with SBIR/STTR contracts
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau
- MBA, CMA
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary financial analyst supporting the Space Systems sector, partnering with Program Managers to monitor financial performance, funding, and contract expenditures
- Track program budgets and perform variance analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for government contracts
- Analyze customer contracts to determine cost, funding, and profit data
- Support the semi-annual budgeting and EAC process
- Support financial planning and analysis activities across corporate and functional departments
- Assist with financial evaluation of operational initiatives and organizational spending plans
- Prepare financial plans, generate regular and special-purpose reports, and maintain historical financial records
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility into program and operational performance
- Establish cost projections, personnel-specific labor forecasts, and analyze financial trends
- Review weekly timesheet charges to ensure timely and accurate completion and proper charging practices
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and decision-support to Sector, Finance, and functional department leadership as needed
