Job Description
Position: Financial Planning Manager, onsite in Las Vegas, NV, with a salary between USD 105,000 and 137,500 annually.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate team workflows with the Regional Director and Associate Director of Financial Planning to ensure timely plan delivery, oversee planning coverage, manage schedules, approve time off, and finalize client plans on time.
- Design and manage a regional onboarding program plus ongoing training for current staff, with regular progress checks for new hires.
- Lead performance reviews and mentorship, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development and career paths.
- Continuously improve training materials and processes to equip the team for exceptional client service.
- Oversee the creation of integrated wealth plans for high-net-worth clients (assets $5MM+), including advanced tax and estate planning, and support advisors in presenting complex topics while clearly communicating the firm value proposition.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality financial planning experience across locations and client interactions.
- Remain current on industry trends and tax law changes to keep advisory guidance at the cutting edge.
- Collaborate with advisory teams to align planning strategies with clients long-term objectives and enhance both advisor and client experiences; support prospect meetings to demonstrate the firm's planning capabilities.
- Contribute to workflow optimization by refining internal processes and systems to boost efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and legislation, especially tax and retirement planning, and educate the team on implications for client plans.
- Partner with senior leadership to implement new processes across the team, ensuring smooth transitions and policy alignment.
- Conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews for Associate Directors of Financial Planning, Financial Planning Managers, Senior Financial Planners, and Financial Planning Associates; provide feedback and set development goals.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director and Managing Director on salary increases and performance bonuses based on feedback, involvement, and quality of advice.
- Identify growth opportunities for team members and provide ongoing career coaching to support professional development.
- Monitor performance against department standards and timelines; address issues with leadership and implement Performance Improvement Plans as needed.
- Participate in interviews for Senior Financial Planner, Financial Planning Associate, and Financial Planning Intern positions.
- Oversee and enhance the use of Tableau and other tools to manage team capacity and resource utilization.
- Stay informed about legislative changes such as the SECURE Act 2.0 and educate the firm on potential impacts.
- Evaluate and implement updates to financial planning tools and software to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the development of new service offerings tailored to the regional client base to expand the firm’s wealth management capabilities.
- Lead client seminars and local events to build relationships and provide educational support; assist meetings to implement financial strategies for clients.
- Collaborate with local Centers of Influence to implement client action plans, ensuring smooth execution and strong client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Certified Financial Planner designation is required; an additional area of specialty or advanced certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of client-facing experience in financial services, with deep knowledge in tax and estate planning.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing a team, emphasizing coaching, mentorship, and resolving personnel issues.
