Lead Financial Systems Developer

Shook, Hardy and Bacon offers a hybrid remote opportunity in Kansas City, MO for a Lead Financial Systems Developer. This role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and integrating financial systems to support the firm’s finance and accounting functions. You will work on data integration and reporting using Power BI and SSRS, with SQL, SSIS/SSAS, Azure, and the .NET framework in a legal industry context. Collaboration with Financial and Pricing Analysts is a key aspect of delivering integrated data solutions in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, design, development, implementation, and integration of financial systems to support the firm’s finance and accounting functions.
• Architect, analyze, design, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain new and existing financial applications.
• Maintain balance and system coherency between Finance and Accounting applications and the existing IT infrastructure.
• Understand the SQL table structures of the various Finance & Accounting software systems to develop reporting and ad hoc queries; primary data source is 3E.
• Collaborate with Financial and Pricing Analysts to develop reports using Power BI and SSRS.
• Deliver data integration by uniting data across legacy, new development, and purchased package environments tailored for the legal industry.
• Study data sources by analyzing and identifying relationships among data objects.
• Develop and modify SQL functions and stored procedures to extract, transform, and load data.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of SSAS and SSIS and training others in the reporting line.
• Exercise appropriate discretion and sound judgment in the execution of duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Information Systems or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server.
• 3+ years of experience with SSIS.
• 3+ years of experience with SSAS.
• 3+ years of experience with SSRS.
• 3+ years of experience with Visual Studio.
• 3+ years of experience with Power Platform.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with .NET Framework.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures and/or law firm operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including creating and utilizing spreadsheets as well as accounting system applications.
• Must have advanced Excel spreadsheet experience.
