Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture advisory relationships with clients, gathering information about their financial circumstances and goals.
- Evaluate the client’s overall financial condition, including complex retirement and estate plans, investments, taxes, insurance, cash flow, cash management, and budgeting.
- Determine clients’ financial objectives, risk tolerance, and capital requirements.
- Advise clients on general financial forecasts and trends.
- Develop sophisticated, goals-based wealth plans and collaborate with the client and other specialists to determine an actionable course of action.
- Facilitate the implementation of comprehensive wealth plans according to client direction.
- Coordinate with the client’s other advisors and TrustBank service partners to deliver integrated financial and wealth planning services.
- Review account relationships and coordinate with the wealth management team to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Lead the sales process in assigned markets and identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
- Contribute to the development and oversight of best practices in delivering financial planning services.
- Prepare and present materials related to ongoing client relationship maintenance.
- Develop marketing materials and plans, and deliver marketing presentations to clients and prospects.
- Contribute to TrustBank’s wealth planning thought leadership, including marketing resources.
- Engage in building professional advisor relationships, including participation in conferences and advisor networks.
- Operate independently with in-depth knowledge of the business unit and its functions.
- Handle activities that are broad in scope, cross-functional, and technically challenging.
- Balance high-level operational execution with the development and implementation of strategic direction for the function.
- Conduct preliminary analyses and interact directly with committees and management as needed.
- Strategically develop, implement, and administer programs within the functional areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; typically 40 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
- Primary location: DuPage County/Chicago Market; duties primarily based in the Wheaton area.
- Work environment: predominantly sedentary office work with long periods at a computer; moderate noise and well-lit facilities.
- Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, reach with arms, talk, and hear; ability to lift up to 25 pounds; vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Other considerations: some tasks may be repetitive at the computer, and the role involves direct interaction with the public.
