Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations
Assist in cash flow forecasting and financial modeling
Prepare borrower pay histories from raw transactional data
Generate, review, and monitor daily billing cycles
Receive and apply loan payments in accordance with loan terms
Request payment of escrowed items such as taxes and insurance
Support the CFO with compliance, regulatory, and audit reporting

Preferred Experience

Strong proficiency in QuickBooks or Yardi Voyager
Prior experience in loan accounting or property management accounting
Familiarity with escrow processes and financial reporting standards
Ability to work with large volumes of data with accuracy and timeliness

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of relevant experience in a senior-level accounting role

Job Purpose & Scope

This position supports lending efforts by conducting analysis, underwriting, origination, monitoring, and servicing of loans across the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division, handling varying degrees of complexity with meticulous attention to detail. You will underwrite and review credit memorandums, ensure due diligence is complete and aligned with CIB policies and procedures in portfolio management, underwriting, and operations, and oversee the management of credit relationships within the CIB portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

Provide thorough, accurate, and timely loan servicing in accordance with the Bank’s Loan Policy.
Monitor portfolio risk to identify potential issues early and communicate findings to borrowers and senior leadership to facilitate prompt risk mitigation.
Ensure underwriting is comprehensive, precise, and incorporates detailed risk analyses that reflect the Bank’s standards, policies, and credit risk appetite.
Deliver financial analysis, analytics, and underwriting support to business lines within the CIB.
Collaborate on underwriting guidelines, create required loan presentation content, and establish standardized approaches while recommending updates as appropriate.
Manage assigned credit transactions, ensuring efficient handling of loan requests in a timely manner, consistent with Bank standards and service level agreements.
Maintain communication with lenders, credit officers, and management at all levels regarding approved and declined loans.
Track, monitor, and report activity on loan applications and decisions, maintaining records of applications received and booked.
Maintain the independence of the underwriting function and the initial credit risk rating recommendations.
Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in performing essential duties.
Review and propose updates to relevant sections of the Loan Policy for senior management consideration.
Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance in the workplace.
Adhere to Bank policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Overview

Role: Credit Analyst I. Location: Garden Grove, CA 92843. This contract position runs for six months with the possibility of conversion to permanent employment. Compensation is $22.00 per hour on a W-2 basis. Shift options include 7:00am–3:30pm, 8:00am–5:00pm, or 11:00am–8:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

Conduct credit investigations and analyze credit information related to loans.
Verify and update credit details as requested by clients to support the mortgage underwriting process.
Provide operational support to the production team during the credit report supplement process.
Resolve customer issues via telephone, handling inbound consumer and client calls.
Perform word processing, general correspondence, and data entry tasks.
Interface with customers regarding inquiries and complaints.
Research online documentation to assist with verification requests.
Analyze credit files to identify missing data and any changes to credit information.

Requirements and Experience

Credit experience.
Call center experience.
Mortgage experience is preferred.
PC literacy with basic office skills; typing approximately 25 words per minute.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid focus on customer service.
Background in credit reporting, loan servicing, mortgage banking, and/or call centers.

Education
