The Financial Planning Manager leads the regional financial planning team at EP Wealth Advisors, LLC in Boise, Idaho, delivering integrated wealth plans for high-net-worth clients and partnering with advisors to uphold a client-focused culture. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, advanced planning expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to drive exceptional client outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Manage team workflows in partnership with the Regional Director and Associate Director of Financial Planning to ensure timely plan delivery and adequate coverage, including scheduling and time-off approvals.
- Develop and sustain onboarding programs for regional hires and provide ongoing training; monitor progress through regular check-ins.
- Conduct performance reviews with mentorship, deliver constructive feedback, and support professional development paths for team members.
- Continuously enhance training materials and processes to equip staff with the tools and knowledge for excellent client service.
- Lead the creation of integrated financial plans for high-net-worth clients with assets of $5 million and above, incorporating advanced tax and estate planning as needed; support advisors in presenting complex topics.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience across all locations and touchpoints.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and tax law changes to keep planning guidance current and competitive.
- Collaborate with advisory teams to align wealth strategies with clients' long-term objectives and participate in prospect meetings to demonstrate the firm’s capabilities.
- Contribute to workflow optimization by refining internal processes and systems to boost efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and retirement planning strategies to ensure team guidance reflects current standards and implications.
- Partner with senior leadership to implement new processes across the team, ensuring alignment with firm policies and practices.
- Lead semi-annual and annual performance reviews for Associate Directors of Financial Planning, Financial Planning Managers, Senior Financial Planners, and Financial Planning Associates, with actionable development goals.
- Coordinate salary and bonus discussions with Regional and Managing Directors based on feedback, involvement, and quality of advice.
- Support career pathing and mentorship, providing ongoing coaching to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Monitor performance standards to ensure adherence to timelines and quality expectations, implementing Performance Improvement Plans when needed.
- Participate in recruiting for Senior Financial Planner, Financial Planning Associate, and Financial Planning Intern roles to build the regional team.
- Oversee and enhance the use of Tableau and other tools to optimize team capacity and resource utilization.
- Remain cognizant of legislative developments such as SECURE Act 2.0 and educate the firm on potential impacts on client plans.
- Evaluate and implement updates to financial planning software and tools to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive the development of new service offerings tailored to the regional client base to expand wealth management capabilities.
- Lead client seminars and local events to build relationships and support education, while assisting in the implementation of financial strategies for clients.
- Coordinate with local Centers of Influence to execute client action plans and foster strong satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements
- Certification: Certified Financial Planner designation required; additional specialty or advanced certification preferred.
- Experience: At least 7 years of client-facing experience in financial services with advanced knowledge of tax and estate planning.
- Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and developing a team, including coaching, mentorship, and resolving personnel issues.
- Technical proficiency: Skilled with financial planning software including Zoom, PractiFi, MyComplianceOffice, Microsoft Teams/Office Suite, Tamarac, eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Social Security Analyzer, Advisys, MBS Highway, Zilculator, Holistiplan, Planner CS, Monday.com.
- Client focus: Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex concepts clearly to clients and internal teams.
